While our individual itineraries allow for great flexibility, we have to
work with climate trends which dictate our areas of operation.   This
also allows us to avoid seasonal unfavorable weather conditions.
(hurricane seasons).

W N Ragland is home based in the Pacific Northwest.  Her capabilities
are global.  We are happy to discuss involvement in activities
throughout the world.  We are open to long term commitments which
would prompt us to adapt our schedule accordingly, our intention at
present is to enjoy  prime seasons, and follow those prime cruising
conditions to some of the most beautiful, interesting, and spectacular
locations in the world.

Feel free to
contact us with your own wishes and thoughts.  We are
happy to include you for longer blue water crossings, should they be of
interest; as well as our regular offerings of more limited durations.
W N RAGLAND is unique in that she offers great variety in the services and
activities that she can accommodate.  It is for this reason,  pricing is
flexible as well.  Prices vary as crew requirements are very different for
each activity or engagement.  We keep our fuel tanks full, and fuel is
topped off after each use, and charged separately at our cost.

Long Term Rates
W N Ragland is pleased to offer special pricing for longer term
commitments.  These commitments run one month or longer.  Activities
may include private and corporate use, motion picture assignments,
research, and philanthropic endeavors.   Since the demands of these
various activities vary so greatly, we ask that you
contact us for pricing.
FILM & CHARTER

A SPECIAL NOTICE IN REGARD TO FILM
PRODUCTION

W N RAGLAND is perfect for documentaries and motion picture work. Much
more beautiful and every bit as ( and in many ways, more) efficient and
functional than typical research and film vessels. Not only is the Schooner
Ragland the most efficient and environmentally friendly ship for your needs---
she LOOKS the part and will add a dimension of beauty and allure to your
projects that sail training vessels, metal research vessels, and typical camera
platforms simply can not.  And the reality presents itself that she is very likely
to perform these tasks at a much lower cost than such vessels. W N RAGLAND
lends herself to these endeavors in several unique ways:

  • W N RAGLAND has not been seen commercially before--she is a fresh face!
  • she is beyond compare with most "like" vessels in that she is accurately
represented here and is not a beat up, or worn out sail training vessel
  • she is WIDE open inside and not chopped up in to the typical charter boat
layout, allowing for equipment and talent to have plenty of room to work--her
master suite is fully 30% of the below deck vessel
  • she has a rich and warm interior with many special features not found on
dormitory or bunkhouse style interiors(fireplace, elephant tusks)
  • she is fitted with 12vdc, 110vac, 220vac, and 32vdc electrical systems and
generates 24,000 watts of power from her power plants
  • she carries several work tenders, a yacht tender, kayaks, and even a Poseidon
    Dive Compressor on board
  • she is fitted with a 30' yard arm high in her rig, allowing for endless high and
low camera angles, as well as a very large variety of sail combinations
  • W N RAGLAND is far beyond a photo boat, she is also a higly efficent location
support and camera vessel with her 100' high main mast---she offers many
    camera angles and positions.
  • She is 280,000 lbs of wooden ship. This is a well insulated and heavy hull,
which will disturb underwater wildlife only minimally.  She is QUIET.
  • She is highly efficient to operate, under both power or sail
  • Her galley is photogenic and very easy to shoot, as are other areas of the vessel
  • W N RAGLAND also lends herself well for premium location housing for talent
    in remote locations
  • RAGLAND's decks are clear and open, and also free of the typical charter boat
signage and clutter.  Nothing made of plywood here!
  • SHE HAS 2 HELMS.....talent requires no extensive training as the boat can be
operated from the helm not in the shot.
